Scolmore Group is delighted to have received recognition for its collaborative work with Leicester College. At the College’s annual ‘Awards to Industry’ event, Scolmore Group was selected from the eight overall shortlisted companies in their category and presented with the Partnership Award. Scolmore’s Operations Director, Steve Taylor, was on hand to pick up the trophy and certificate from Neil McManus, Electrical Programme Manager at the College.
Leicester College’s annual Awards to Industry celebrate the productive collaborations between local businesses and Leicester College. The awards are one of the highlights of the Leicester College calendar, providing the perfect opportunity to acknowledge and thank the many employers and partners that the College works with each year.
Comments Neil McManus: “Working in partnership with our employers, such as Scolmore, enables our learners to engage with local and regional businesses. It helps the College deliver an enhanced learning and training experience by providing unique opportunities, and hones employability skills during a learner’s time with the College. Our learners have had the opportunity to participate in some truly exceptional projects as a direct result of our employer partnerships.”
The Partnership Award recognises employers who have supported Leicester College learners with sponsorship, live briefs, mentoring, master classes and workplace visits.
“We have had a long association with Scolmore and over the years the company has provided an unprecedented level of support, including the provision of highly valuable training which some of their experts deliver to our students here on the College premises. This has proved invaluable in helping our students to get practical and real life experience in dealing with the emerging range of smart products and systems that are currently seeing such growth in the sector. Scolmore is a very proactive company, always looking at opportunities to get involved and offer their support, particularly when it comes to apprentices looking to make their way in the industry. We look forward to our continued collaborative efforts to deliver enhanced learning opportunities to our students.”
